Bike-a-thon benefits
children's hospital
This year’s St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s Wheels for Life Bike-a-thon will Ik- held 9 a.m.noon May 9 at the Caledonia Farms Road in Flint Hill.
Volunteer workers and riders are needed to raise funds for childhood cancer. St. Jude’s Research Center was founded by Danny Thomas.
Riders are s|w>nsored per mile completed. All riders turning in money receive a certificate. Those raising
get a T-shirt; those raising $75, a sportsbag.
“We really need lots of riders, since the center operates from public support, primarily," said Steve Young of Sperryville, one of Virginia's first unrelated Imne-marrow recipients.
“You don’t have to just bike it, either," said Mr. Young. “You can walk, run or wheelchair the course as well."
