Mrs. Mock said, "We talk to girls in groups about putting themselves into dangerous situations. We talk about how to avoid getting into situations where they could be beat up or hurt. We tell them it’s not in their best interests if they are drinking or taking drugs.”
They say they want to continue working with the groups in the schools. They say the students feel the groups are a “safe place” where the things they say will remain confidential and where they can relate to adults and their peers.

Edward Barton, president of the Friends of the Rappahannock Library, said that there was a conflict between the board and the Friends on accounting for gifts made under the Neigborhood Assistance Act. This act allows businesses to make gifts to the library and take a state tax credit of 50 percent of the gift.
