Member John McCarthy suggested that $2,000 be appropriated for purchasing books. Dr. Young said the board could also leave these funds alone and let the interest accumulate. Mary Jamieson said, “When people give things, they would like it not to just disappear into operations.” New board member Frank Warner suggested the money could be used to purchase some of the things on the “wish list.” Other members said these things should be purchased with funds from the building fund.
