Petitioners and others who desire to “affect substantial, longterm, beneficial changes in our system of government” are encouraged to attend a Virginians for Perot meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 30 at the Rappahannock Library, U.S. 211-522, Washington, Va.
While efforts to place Ross Perot on the ballot in all 50 states will continue, new ideas are being considered at local, state and national levels as to how best harness the momentum and energy created by the Perot campaign. Following meetings in Dallas last week, district and county coordinators of the Virginians for Perot group caucused at the James River Inn in Richmond Saturday afternoon to explore proposals for an ongoing mission.
The first step will be to ensure a unified front of several key issues, with the intent of “making a difference” in the outcome of the November elections.
With a strong organization now in place at the precinct level, comprising some 20 to 30 million volunteers across the country, Perot supporters are preparing to provide grass roots, door-to-door support to selected candidates (be they Democrat, Republican or Independent)
