The fact that Ochs rhymes with box creating an interesting and clever marketing tool is not the only interesting and clever aspect to one of Flint Hill’s newest businesses.

Ochs Food, located in the back of the Flint Hill General Store, opened just two months ago and was conceived of by owners Nicholas Ochs Raymond and long-time county resident Diane Waldron.

With essentially the lunch crowd in mind, although they do catering as well, Mr. Raymond and Ms. Waldron, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 12:30, are serving up some pretty delicious fare. On top of that and most importantly, with just a calledin order, they will deliver it to your door at no charge if you are in the Washington or Flint Hill areas.

Their menu is appetizing, creative and healthy. For counters of calories, cholesteral and fat intake, Ochs’s lunches could be the answer to your prayers. The Ochs Box is offered five days a week and includes a complete lunch - main entree, beverage and dessert for $5, delivered.

Inside the box comes a myriad of goodies such as chicken salad in a lightly curried mayonaise, served with fresh pineapple and melon, shrimp in aspic, served with a snow pea lettuce salad, Ceasar pasta salad, prepared with cheese tortellini and shells, black olives and parmesan and cherry sherry mold (Ochs likes to rhyme things), served with cottage cheese and fruits in season.

Mr. Raymond and Ms. Waldron also serve an assortment of salads for $3.50 each and various types of small sandwiches served with potato chips and hard boiled egg. The sandwich selection is actually a sandwich and a half and is also delivered.

Mr. Ochs and Ms. Waldron have put together several aspects in their new businesses that consumers are looking for today. They are serving food that is tasty, low in fat and calories and gourmet in style at an inexpensive price and it is brought right to your door.
