“We will shift the menu frequently,” said Mr. Ochs. “This week we are offering a delicious tuna mousse with salad, but that will change next week.”

“We create everything ourselves,” said Mr. Ochs. “We take a lot of time and put in much effort to make the food as good as possible.”

Ochs Food also offers its salads and sandwiches at $3.50 each to customers through Mountainside Market in Washington, Flint Hill Store and Better Thymes health food store in Front Royal.

“Many people can’t leave their shops or businesses during the day,” said Mr. Ochs, who zips around the county delivering Ochs Boxes in his small truck, “so it is a real service to them when we can bring them their lunch.”

For the lunch bunch on a budget, Mr. Ochs will deliver just the salad or main part of the meal without the drink and dessert for only $3.50.

With a knife, fork, cup and napkin already included, the Ochs Box is ready for travel, picnics, offices or just in front of your favorite show on television.

Mr. Ochs moved to Rappahannock seven years ago and lives in Flint Hill. He has been involved with food for much of his life, either cooking it or serving the hungry as he did throughout his career as a liaison officer for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization based in Rome, Italy.
