Office said Brown was also charged with marital sexual battery and abduction after he was returned to custody. Streapy said the grand jury will return for a special session to consider additional charges against Brown. Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke has not yet set that date, Streapy said.
• No charges were filed in an early morning accident July 21 on U.S. 522 near Scrabble. Virginia State Trooper C.A. Moore reported that two trucks driven by Jesse James Wise, 33, of Culpeper, and Robert Ray Good, 52, of Rixeyville, sideswiped each other as their vehicles passed in a curve.
Moore reported minor damage to the two men’s pickups, and cited conficting stories and non-documented physical evidence as reasons for the lack of charges. Wise suffered minor injuries, he said.
• Thomas R. Phelts, 48, of Alexandria, was charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain proper control, after an accident July 24. Trooper Moore reported that Phelts was driving a 1989 Mack truck southbound on U.S. 522 near Huntly, when he slowed for traffic ahead.
