McSweeney, in his speech, asked members to support President Bush, regardless of some of his quirks.
“I’m not going to say that Bush fits every ideal,” McSweeney said, “but on his worst day, George Bush is better than anything the Democrats offered in the primaries.”
McSweeney is confident that Republicans will win the majority in the House which would help move Bush policies foward.
The new members of the 10th District Republican Committee are Dr. Conrad Helsley of Shanandoah County, who will be Western Vice Chairman, and Robert Lee, of Fairfax County, who will be Eastern Vice Chairman.
Paul Ziluca of Loundoun County was elected Treasurer and polly Gable, of Warrenton was elected Secretary.
