For students at Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly school started last week also. With 110 students the school is experiencing a significant increase from last year’s enrollment of about 68, according to Walt Longyear, vice chairman of the board of directors.
There are five students in the pre-kindergarten class, 34 in the primary school in kindergarten through third grades, 30 in the grammar school in fourth through seventh grades and 41 in the prep school in eighth through 12th grades. Fifteen of these students are from Rappahannock County with the others coming from 10 other counties in Virginia and West Virginia.
Mr. Longyear reported that a settlement of all outstanding legal issues was reached with Wakefield School in Marshall and presented to the judge Sept. 8. The terms of the settlement are confidential, he said.
