Today, convential thinking, invoking science, discounts social issues (“You can’t change human nature”) and ridicules the notion that human beings can be better than beasts of the jungle, preying on one another, unconscious of our part in a universal system of being.
Conventional thinking, determinist in many ways, would urge us to resign ourselves to extinction as if we were dinosaurs, to deny that possibility, or to work for another world - in space! Some people recently have been suggesting that we look for solutions to crime by investigating human genes.
Taking off from Capra’s work, “Mindwalk” asks us to imagine that we inhabit an inter-connected universe that functions like a great organism. It challenges us to entertain ideas, suggested by the discoveries of atomic physics, that may be as strange as subtraction or multiplication would seem if all we knew about was addition.
All of us have had insights that prepare us to see “Mindwalk” because we have noticed anomalies in our existence and the world around us that conventional thinking and science don’t take into account.
