Crab feast

Child Care and Learning Center will be sponsoring its second annual crab feast from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Amissville fire hall. This all-you-can-eat menu includes crabs, cole slaw, beans, hot dogs and drinks. All tickets sold in advance, $16 for adults, $8 for children under 12. Stop by the CCLC for your tickets. Proceeds to benefit CCLC.

Auditions planned

The Rappahannock Players request, entreat, implore and summon men and women of talent, grace, and bearing, of barrel chest, keen eye and sure foot, persons of valour, dedication and wisdom to come reveal their qualities in audition for a part in that classic of the stage “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck. Auditions will be held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 20 at the Spring Mountain School. For more information, directions, or to schedule an appointment call Howard Coon at 937-5844.

'Day of Caring'

The Piedmont United Way “Day of Caring” in Rappahannock will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Washington Community Center. Businesses, people with supplies and volunteers are needed to help clean up at the center. Anyone wishing to help should call Angie White at 987-8946 or 347-7000 or Mitch Hostertter at 3470062.
