James Poe
James Reid Poe, 88, of Front Royal, died Saturday, Sept. 12 at his residence.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick by Dr. Mark Jordon.
Mr. Poe was born Feb. 24, 1904 in Rappahannock County, son of the late Frank and Annis Elizabeth Willis Poe. He was a retired business agent for the Electrical Union of Washington, D.C. and a member of the AARP.
Surviving are his wife, Maysie Mae Poe; two daughters, Annabell Plummer of Berryville and Hilda Barr of Winchester; two sisters, Dora Lehew of Front Royal and Nellie Fugate of Lynchburg and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Ethel Fletcher
Mrs. Ethel Grigsby Fletcher, 62, of Madison, formerly of Washington, died Saturday, Sept. 12 at Porters Adult Home in Madison.
Mrs. Fletcher was the widow of the late Charles E. Fletcher.
Survivors include three brothers, Frank Grigsby of Dover, Delaware, David Chunn and Herbert Chunn, both of Front Royal; one uncle, Marshall Jordan of Washington; one aunt, Rose Lewis of Philadelphia, Pa. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Joynes Funeral Home in Warrenton with the Rev. Forrest Freeman officiating. Interment was in the Grigsby family cemetery in Washington.
