With the aid and advice of Helen Williams (formerly Helen LaCava), we selected a computer, printer, computer work station, and related equipment, to which was added instructional software - in the form of floppy disks - contributed by Leonard Cowherd of the Piedmont Technical Education Center. This equipment and software is nqw in place and ready for use. As a matter of interest to those who are not computer-literate, the equipment includes a microsoft compatible serial mouse and mouse pad. With the mouse, one can play solitaire - but the computer will simply not tolerate cheating.
Students using reading and math software will be in charge of their own learning and receive the reinforcement and immediate feedback they need to make steady progress. Computer literacy will put them in a forward position in today’s technological society.
