Harvest dinner planned

The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary to the fire company will sponsor a fall harvest dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The menu will consist of ham, turkey and all the trimmings along with ice tea, coffee and dessert. The price will be $8 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information call 675-3663.

Rappahannock chorus

All those interested in participating in the Rappahannock Chorus this fall, please call Ellen Manson at 675-1039. Rehearsals will begin in mid-October. The chorus is still in need of a director if any of our talented citizens is interested in that position.

Benefit fashion show

On Thursday, Sept. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. the Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society will host a luncheon and fashion show. The event will be at the Bleu Rock Inn, and will feature collections by Christine Fox, From Any Angle, For Lucy’s Friends and jewelry from Personal Treasures. Craft show planned

The Amissville Fire Department and Rescue Squad is planning a craft show for the weekend of Oct. 24 and 25 at the fire hall. Anyone wishing to rent table space should contact Ginny Pierson at 937-4496.

Jenkins family reunion

Family and friends of the late Dolan and Jessie Jenkins will hold their annual family reunion beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Bing Crosby Stadium. Everyone is asked to bring a picnic lunch.

Oktoberfest to be held

St. John School in Warrenton will be holding their 13th annual Oktoberfest from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct. 17. This event features beautiful handmade crafts, baked items, mouth-watering German food, children’s games and live entertainment. “Please plan on spending your day with us in the beautiful Warrenton countryside and help make our fair a success,” said an organizer.

The American Cancer Society office has relocated from Warrenton to Culpeper. The new address is 246 E. Davis St., Culpeper, Va. 22701. The phone number is 825-0754. The office serves the needs of people in the counties of Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock.

Benefit craft show

Culpeper County Middle School craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the school on Route 229. Many crafters, coffee and donuts, lunch, entertainment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., door prizes door prizes, baked goods and face painting. For directions call 825-4140.
