Scott McBride, a resident of Sperryville, is doing historical reearch on the Hawkins family builders. Beginning in the 1870’s, three generations of Hawkins’ constructed many of Rappahannock’s finest homes, churches and public buildings. Anyone with interesting stories about these builders, including owners of Hawkins’ houses, is requested to contact Mr. McBride at 987-9550. Mr. McBride is a carpenter and a journalist. He is especially seeking any old photographs or documents such as bills or contracts that might be relevant.
