The supervisors approved some changes in the contract with Davis Industries to take fluff the company produces from shredding cars. The company suggested the contract be modified to pay the county $24 rather than $25 per ton. The company also asked that the contract say that the county would also take approximately 4,000 tons of fluff that have been stockpiled at the company’s Lorton grounds since the contract was proposed and that the county agree to give the company 60 days rather than 30 days notice if the county wants to terminate the contract earlier than Jan. 1,1994.

The supervisors agreed to the last two changes but decided to hold out for $25 per ton.

The board authorized Mr. McCarthy to explore extending the contract with Updike Industries to collect trash from the dumpsters on a month-to-month basis or for another year.
