International dinner planned

The Blue Ridge Extension Homemakers Club, the new countywide extension homemakers club, will participate in the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service/Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers Council International Dinner at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 7 at the Amissville Baptist Church. England is the featured country of this year’s International Dinner and the speaker will be Wendy Weinberg of the Gay Street Theatre. There will also be a display of English items that may be of interest to those attending the dinner.

All members are encouraged to attend and to bring one English covered dish selected from the handout menu. Please bring a friend for what promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening. For further information call Helen Smith at 675-3619 or Kim Gilkey-Breeden at 635-5601.

Summer art camp

Middle Street Gallery will hold its annual Summer Art Camp this summer during the first two weeks of August at the Recreation Center in Washington. From August 2-6, Laurie Marshall (675-3267) w^l teach drawing and painting. From August 9-13, Jeanne Drevas (9873129) will teach sculpture and paper-making. Camp runs, from 9-11:30 and cost $35 per week. There is scholarship help available. Call the artist for information and to register. The sign-up deadline in July 12.

Support group to meet

The Blue Ridge Head Injury support group will meet from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 at the Parish Hall in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. For more information or transportation call Pat Salmon at 675-3137.

First Friday program

Because of the Memorial Day Holiday, First Friday will be a week late this month.

“Wild Animals of Rappahannock” will be the final First Friday program at the Library at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11.
