I he summer program is not about stardom. It is about accomplishment, working together to create something that others can then enjoy and be enriched by. This program will demand a daily disciplined approach to working with other teenagers and a staff of professionals to produce a culminating production, to be presented to the public on July 31 and Aug. 1.
This is the first year for The Summer Program in the Performing Arts for Teenagers. As with all new programs, it needs the support of the community. We would deeply appreciate it if all Rappahannock News readers would spread the word to teenagers, the parents of teenagers, and your neighbors, so that everyone knows about the program both here and in the surrounding counties.
The tuition seems to us amazingly reasonable but there is also a scholarship fund for those who may need financial assistance. We applaud those businesses and individuals who have come forward to contribute toward these partial scholarships so far but Ki Theatre still needs many more contributions to be sure that every teenager who wants this opportunity can have it.
