island ports returned to America bringing pineapples which were considered generous, if not exotic, fare for those guests lucky enough to be served by the Captain.

This pineapple has additional history dating from 1720-50 when it was designed and used by Moses Eaton, a Connecticut stenciller.

The guild will also follow its successful Moveable Feast, held May 23, with a second event July 4. Popular during the past few years, the “feast” is a progressive dinner involving four courses at four different B&Bs. A third “feast” is planned for Sept. 12.

Each day there will be a 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. seating. Guests should plan on approximately five hours for the meal; the cost is $60, including wine, gratuity and tax. Reservations may be made by calling 675-3757, or 9879454.

Participating in the Moveable Feasts are Blue Knoll Farm and The Conyers House for libations and appetizers; sbup and salad at the Foster-Harris House and Gay Street Inn; the entree and wine at the Public House in Flint Hill; and dessert and coffee will be served at Thistle Hill and Apple Hill Farm.
