Many people here pay more for telephone service than for real estate taxes. I’ve heard some say their monthly bill is bigger than their mortgage or rent. If the Board of Supervisors and Town Council aren’t interested in correcting a very expensive situation affecting their constituents, than I ask, When is the next election?

Congress, after many years of discussion, is about ready to let phone companies and the cable TV industry into each others’ business.

Adelphia Cable TV is right now wiring the more populated areas of the county with high-capacity fiber optic lines. Perhaps they would be interested in going to every residence in the county with both cable
