“The one-handgun-per-30-dayslaw will have little or no effect on Virginia law-abiding citizens,” said Col. Carl R.. Baker, State Police superintendent.

The new law permits gun buyers to purchase one handgun every 30 days. Names of purchasers and the date a gun is purchased will be recorded in a calendar data bank to ensure that 30 days have elapsed between gun purchases.
