Even though Rappahannock won the first two games, they played a third, and lost. But they really came out on that court with confidence, and it showed, Coach Paratore said.
The junior varsity also played a scrimmage, but lost their two games. The team is really young and inexperienced, and there is a lot of room for improvement, their coach Emily Wingate said.
“From the scrimmage we got to see what we need to work on,” she added. She is proud of her girls and has a lot of confidence that their season will be a productive and successful one.
Rappahannock will play its first home game against Clarke County on Monday, Dec. 6. The next two games will be away, against Brentsville District on Dec. 9 and Strasburg on Dec. 13.
This is Paul Paratore’s fourth year as the volleyball coach at RCHS, and he feels that this year’s varsity team members have the happiest and best attitude yet. “They like each other a lot. That is so important for volleyball,” he said.
