Benefit Bake Sale
On Saturday, Dec. 4 the Washington Baptist Church will be serving chilli stew, soup and corn bread at the Zoning Office Porch from 11 a.m. till 6 p.m. to benefit the church storage building fund.
Adopt-A-Child Tree
Girl Scout Troops of the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council will have a Giving Tree at the Rappahannock Library to adopt-a-child at Christmas for a gift. Gifts are to be taken to Social Services Office by Dec. 17.
Walk-in Clinics
December walk-in clinics will be held at the Rappahannock Health Department from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3; 8:30-11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13 and 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The Health Department will be closed December 23, 24, 30 and 31.
Christmas Bazaar
The Child Care and Learning Center will be sponsoring its annual Christmas bazaar from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the center. Pictures with Santa will be taken, lunch will be served, there will be a children’s shopping room, jingle rides, craft sales, white elephant sale, bake sale and a silent auction. A handmade quilt will be raffled off. Call 675-3237 for more information.
Christmas Green Sale
Christmas greens sale to benefit the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the fire hall. A variety of loose green from boxwoods to spruce for holiday decorations will be sold. Wreath making will be demonstrated and sold.
Benefit Bake Sale
The Inn at Washington is sponsoring a benefit bake sale for the Child Care and Learning Center from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5 during the Colonial Christmas weekend. The bake sale will be held at the Town Hall.
Christmas Bazaar
Spring Mountain School will hold its second annual Christmas bazaar from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. This will include a candle ceremony symbolizing the beginning of Advent, a Christmas program, a pie auction, a gingerbread house raffle, toys, games, books, art supplies, handmade candles, tree ornaments, numerous locally made craft items, and a children’s craft room. Hot lunches, baked goodies and hot and cold organic cider will be sold.
Poinsettia Sale
Girl Scout Troop 380 will be at the First Baptist Church from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday Dec. 4 and 5 taking orders and selling poinsettias. For more information call Sally Havstad at 9879342 or any troop member. Prices are $5.25 for a six inch plant.
