“Kids here are very open and warm,” said Maike. She really enjoys all of her classes, three of which are French, English and Spanish. Both of Maike’s parents teach English and French. She wants to study languages in college, and may become a translator.

Students attend school for 13 years in Hamburg, so Maike will have three more to complete when she gets home. School hours run from 8 a.m. to 1:30, and no lunch is served at school.
