Virginia Cooperative Extension in Planning District 9, in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health, is sponsoring a 16-hour certification course in Applied Food Service Sanitation for food service personnel. It will be held from 2-5:15 p.m. on Jan. 12,19 and 26 and Feb- 2 and 9 at the Madison Extension 'Office in Madison.
This course is designed to educate owners, operators, managers, and other food, service personnel in proper food handling techniques and sanitation management. This course will help managers increase the level of sanitation in their facility, while decreasing the amount of foodbbrne disease.
The textbook used will be' Applied Food Service Sanitation (cost is include in tuition). After completion of the course, there is a onehour exam. With successful completion of the course and passing the exam, students will be issued a certificate by the National Restaurant Association. . .
