“I share the basic goals of Virginians who oppose NAFTA. I just don’t share the conclusion that NAFTA will keep us from reaching those goals.
“I believe NAFTA is central to America’s strategy to compete and win in today’s global economy. I am firmly convinced that the fears most often expressed are much more likely to come to pass if NAFTA is not ratified than if it is.”
