Mr. Gooch further stated that he didn’t see how a party could delegate duties unless they knew how to do the job themself. “If we pay someone to do the job they should do it.”

Treasurer Tom Zumwalt said that in several meetings he had with former Treasurer Brad Fisher, Mr. Fisher indicated to him that an administrative assistant was needed. Mr. Zumwalt also said that he felt it was unrealistic to ask someone doing a part-time job to stuff envelopes, etc.

Mr. Gooch argued that the preparation of tax forms is a treasurer’s duty.

A motion was made to rescind the resolution which was passed in April. All members of the council voted for it except Messrs. Gooch and Lynch.
