portunity to ride supervised several times during the week, they also are responsible for the care of all the RadTech horses, whether it’s stall cleaning or grooming.
Students conceived the idea for RadTech after both Virginia Tech and Radford University lost funding for riding programs. They combined resources and formed RadTech.
Besides the team managers who conduct team practice, RadTech also employs a coach to teach individual lessons. The coach for the 1994 -1995 school year is J.T. Tallon from Lexington. He was former coach of Southern Virginia Women’s College with four national team championships
The students hold fund-raisers throughout the year to contribute to a very limited budget.
RadTech has high hopes for the upcoming competition year. “We have made several changes, including a new coach and a new bam,” says Fairfax’s Kelly Smith, team manager for Virginia Tech.
