Both school officials and Kenbridge Construction agree the project for the elementary school addition is on schedule.

Mike Harmody, construction superintendent for the project, said, “The project is going good so far. We haven’t had any real problems.”
He noted that several days of rain can throw a project a week behind, but so far they have been able to make up for days missed because of rain. He expects to begin work on the roof by the end of the month, and once the roof is on, work won’t be as affected by weather, he said.
He said it has been easy working with school officials and representatives of the architectural firm. “We’ve got a good team here,” he said. “We’ve got good subcontractors, and everybody works well together.”
The addition is due to be substantially complete by early October with November 18 scheduled as a work day for teachers for moving into the addition. That will give students three days in the new space before Thanksgiving break.
