As the United States has been influenced by soccer, he said, soccer will also be influenced by the United States. Like many fans he said he was sorry to see the championship game decided in a shootout. The rules may be changed in the next few years to allow for more high scoring games that will appeal to American fans, he said.
Soccer Camp

Richard Price, head of the Rappahannock Soccer League, is encouraging the county’s young players to sign up for Bobby Gray’s Soccer Camp to be held in Culpeper August 1-6.
Bobby Gray is the soccer coach at Mobile College. This camp has been held in Culpeper each summer for the past several years, he said. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. Anyone from 5 to 18 is welcome to come. Registration costs $65. Registration forms are at Cabin Fever Books in Washington or call Mr. Price at 987-9428.
Mr. Price also said the soccer league hopes to get off to an early start this year and will be registering players for the fall season July 30, August 6 and August 13 at RCHS from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Those registration forms are also available at Cabin Fever Books or at sign up.
