Instead, Washington’s Town Council delved during its initial meeting July 11 into issues that will affect the town’s future. The new council discussed numerous items, among them: block grants for a water-distribution system, an ordinance to protect the town’s water supply, an ordinance to preserve the historic district, unrestrained dogs, better utilization of Town Hall facilities and town boundary lines.
