Otis Hawkins
Otis Marshall Hawkins, 86, of Calverton, formerly of Woodville, died on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Bertha Burke Hawkins.
His wife was the late Alberta Dodson Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins was a farmer and a member of Five Forks Regular Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Jimmie R. Hawkins of Calverton; two daughters, Lucy Koch of North Beach, Md. and Elizabeth Cagle of Commerce City, Colorado; two stepdaughters, Laura Wharton of Culpeper and Jessie Pennell of North Beach, Md.; two sisters, Mary Frances Chadwell of Front Royal and Eartha Corbin of Flint Hill; six grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren. A step-daughter Claudia Jenkins died in February 1994.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 6 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper with the Rev. Wilfred Deppen officiating. Interment was in Washington Masonic Cemetery. ,
Pallbearers were Charles F. Dodson, Richard Burke, K.P. Grigsby, Rodney Vest* F.D. Coffey and Sonny Anderson. \
Charles Compton
Charles William (Agitator) Compton,. 64, of Front Royal, died on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal with the Rev. L.D. Savage officiating. Interment followed at Panorama Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Compton was born March 2, 1930, in Castleton, son of the late Mannie and Polly Jane Cloud Compton.
He attended Massanova Penecostal Church in Castleton. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army: He was widely known in the area for his use of the C.B. Radio. He was a former member of the Front Royal Moose Lodge and the American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, Robert William Compton Sr. of Front Royal and Roger E. Compton of Winchester; two brothers, Edward
