Many Virginia landowners may be able to add value to their property by establishing a naturalized population of American ginseng in their own private woodlands.
All persons are invited to attend a Wild-Simulated Ginseng Production Field Meeting on Sept. 9 at the Northern Piedmont Agricultural Experiment Station near Orange.
A naturalized stand of American ginseng was planted in 1987 near that experiment station. Those plants are now seven years old and are ready to be harvested. ,At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 we will dig up those ginseng roots and discuss various aspects of production and marketing of ginseng. This ginseng field meeting is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension. There will be no charge for participation in this educational program. t
