EPD stands for Expected Progeny Difference. A cow’s EPD is determined by a formula that involves pedigree, milk production, weights of calves at birth, at weaning, and as yearlings. It is an indication of how well the cow’s calves will do generally.
The Ginger Hill herd also fccludes the Number One, Two and Three maternal sires of the Angus breed. These bulls will produce heifer calves, which in turn will be successful mothers to their calves.
