To do that the librarian intends to canvass the community for people who need the service and solicit volunteers to deliver books.
But some Library Board members suggested the library consider a bookmobile making regular stops in some of the villages. Many people, especially those too young to drive, are not able to get to the library regularly, they noted.
Other goals in the five year plan include developing the endowment fund to provide for future library expansion, adding to the collection of books on tape, developing a policy for adding to the collection and weeding out books that are not used, providing training for trustees, staff and volunteers and continuing to seek out grants to support the library.
The board will formally vote on the five year plan at its July meeting. -
