Outrageous

To the Editor:

Whoopie! We can now dial Amissville, Castleton and Culpeper free for an outrageous surcharge. Gloom! We can’t get a directory for our new free area without another outrageous surcharge.

I was eventually quoted $17.95 plus $3.95 postage and handling. $22.00 for a listing of what we can now dial “free.” Folks, this project ain’t through.

What 911

Service?

To the Editor:

On Saturday morning, June 17, at 3:05 a.m., my husband, Jimmy and I were awakened by someone at the door. Jimmy answered the door to a man who had lost control of his car in front of our house. His car was stuck on the bank across the road, and he insisted that my husband come out fi and push his car off the bank with his ) truck.

Jimmy kept trying to persuade him that he could not do this and that he would be happy to call someone for him, call a tow truck or call the police. The man was very insistent. Jimmy came back in to put on his shoes and told me to call the police while he was trying to stall him.
