(Editor’s Note: Sheriff John J. Woodward reported that a call from the Joback residence was received at his office at 2:59 a.m. At that time Deputy Connie Compton was at the scene of an accident at Route 642 in Amissville. After she left that accident scene at 3:06 a.m. she was dispatched to the "car in a bank” call at Route 647 across from the Joback's house. She reported she followed Route 647 to the county line without finding anything.
