CCLC 4-H Cloverbuds— The CCLC Cloverbuds meet on the third and fourth Wednesdays at CCLC or the Extension Office immediately after school (3:30-4:45 p.m.). At their first September meting they learned “How to Catch a Cold.”
The 4-Hers learned how colds are spread and how to prevent getting one. At the second September meeting they started work on Christmas ornaments to enter in next summer’s Farm Show and for the day care center’s Christmas Bazaar.
They participated in a cooking workshop last March “Nutrition Month.” Besides entering the Farm Show they also attended Cloverbud Camp. The meeting dates for October will be Oct. 18 and 25. Club leader is Hazel Zinn-Day and several other parents.
Rappahannock 4-H Cloverbuds — This group of Cloverbuds meets at 2 p.m. on the third Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Extension Office. They completed numerous art and craft projects last year which they sold at the Colonial Christmas celebration in Washington and exhibited at the Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Show.
They also participated in the Earth Day-Kite Festival and 4-H Cloverbud Camp. Members have already begun to work on items for this year’s Colonial Christmas on Dec. 9. Club leaders are Hazel ZinnDay and Candice Llama.
All 4-H clubs are open to all children in the county, and they welcome new members. If you read about one that your child is interested in, or if you’re just old enough to join this year, please contact the Extension Office at 675-3619.
