Five members of the 4-H Livestock Club participated in the 4H Junior Stockman’s Contest and Livestock shows at the Virginia State Fair Sept. 29 and 30 in Richmond and brought home honors to Rappahannock County.
Open Division
Justin Updike had the Reserve Grand Champion Angus Bull and Reserve Champion Junior Yearling Heifer in the Open Division. The Open Division is competition against other youth and adults and included over 100 consigned cattle from Virginia, North Carolina, and other states.
Junior Angus Show
Katie Updike had the Grand Champion Bred and Owned Angus Heifer in the Junior Angus Show.
Justin Updike had the First Place Junior Yearling Heifer and Scott Updike had the Champion Market Heifer.
