Virginia Scott volunteers in the first grade. She will sometimes bring in her autoharp to entertain the children. Mrs. Makela said that Mrs. Scott is sort of a substitute grandmother for many of the children.
Mrs. Makela said that the seniors are wonderful role models for the children, as many do not have the influence of senior citizens because they don’t have grandparents who live nearby.
Several people work in the computer lab at RCHS to keep it open daily. Judy Tole is in charge of the volunteers for that job, and she has several who jump in and help: John Hartline, George Sharp, Lee Bird, Ted Chapman, Emerson Williams and Bill Rapp all work in the computer lab.
Mr. Hartline said that in his position there he monitors the students by making sure they have a hall pass to be in the lab. He also offers help to anyone who needs it, and makes sure all the equipment is working properly.
