On a much more personal note, I would like to thank all of the cast for their commitment to the show. It was a lot of hard work and they came through like the real troopers they are. They all know how much I appreciate them and what they were able to accomplish.
On any given night there were approximately 140 to 150 people working on the show. I am truly grateful for everyone’s help. Most people came to the show and saw wonderful acting and terrific music. As a director 1 saw that and more. I was a group of people who didn’t know each other two months earlier, come together as “River Citizens.” They worked and laughed together. They became friends. For some people it was a pleasant instance in their lives-an opportunity to sharpen their performing skills. To others, it was a life altering event — one they would never forget. As I told my cast and crew at the closing night party, if I never did another thing in theatre, I would find this experience to be a satisfying end.
