“We knew that and us girls would go to visit often to get cookies.”

Our next stop was up Old Hollow way to the home of Daniel and Sally Dwyer Keyser, formerly the home of , Carla’s great-grandparents. The kindest and warmest of that famous Southern hospitality was extended to our “newfound cousin” by the Keysers. The rainy day not glooming our exuberant spirits in the least.

The following Saturday, Alex and Carla, Sally Keyser, and Carla’s aunt, Hazel Woodward and myself met at the Sperryville Emporium whereupon we carpooled to the Bolen family cemetery. Not the same as our grand annual outing but as interesting. This was Hazel’s first time to visit her grandparents’ resting place, as well as Carla’s so many photos were taken. This day’s journey would not end until we had made the circuitous route back down Gid Brown Hollow, across Pullen’s Bluff to Racer Hollow up the same, over Baker’s Hill, down Harris Hollow and through Washington. We dined that afternoon at the Hazel Mountain Pub at Country Manor Gift Shon.
