Mr. Hartline and Mr. Chapman split working two Mondays a month. Mr. Hartline has worked a lot with computers since 1980 and said that working in the computer lab is a very pleasant job.
Some seniors in the county have volunteered their help but have no transportation to get to the schools. They attend the Srenior Citizens Nutrition Site at Trinity Church three days a week, run by the Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board. Under the guidance of RSVP volunteer coordinator Jeanie McNear, the seniors at the site will help the schools by counting Campbell soup labels and doing other chores which they can do without being at the schools.
More volunteers are needed at RCES, said Mrs. Makela. “1 have places for any senior that would like to volunteer,” she said.
Any senior citizens wishing to volunteer should call Mrs. Makela, Volunteer Coordinator, at 987-9316, mailbox 507 or 987-8259.
Those who wish to volunteer at the high school should call Judy Tole.
