Francis Embrey
Francis Scott Embrey, 68, of Amissville, died on Monday, Nov. 27, at his residence.
He was bom in Fauquier County on July 16, 1927, the son of Edna Viola Webb and Pleasant Embrey.
He was a Korean War Veteran and a member of Jefferson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne L. Embrey.
Survivors include his son, George Robert Embrey of Amissville; his daughter, Frances Lea Mitchell of Walnut Grove, Calif.
Also surviving are two brothers, Walter Embrey of Fredericksburg and William Embrey of Buckhannon, W.Va. one sister, Myrtle Sheads of Rixeyville and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 1, at Moser funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Marshall Braylo officiating, interment was in Jeffersonton Baptist Cemetery.
Elsie Settle
Mrs. Elsie Mae Settle, 85, of Viewtown, wife of the late Granville Lee Settle, died on Saturday, Dec. 2, at Royal Haven Nursing Home in Front Royal. \
A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Mary Woodward.
She was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church in Viewtown.
She is survived by two sons, Milton W. Settle and Ralph Settle.
Graveside services were held on Monday, Dec. 4 at Forest Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Mel Putch officiating.
Pallbearers were Thomas Pear, Jack James, Ted Pechie, Dickie Latham, Franklin Woodward and Graham Hackley.
Geest Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
