The ^ Amissville Christmas Community Food Drive has begun. Boxes for non-perishable food items are at Lombardy’s, Mayhugh’s, and Hackley’s, as well as at the participating churches.
Cash donations are being accepted for the fruit for the fruit baskets and turkeys for the food baskets. They may be sent to Dorothy Hackley, P.O. Box 75, Amissville, 22002; Nancy Nicholas, 500 Battle Mountain Road, Amissville; or dropped by Hackley’s Store.
Last year, over 80 senior citizens, shut-ins or needy families were remembered with food baskets, fruit baskets or poinsettias, thanks to the generous support of the community.
