Acoustic Outlet is an exciting new band set to bring their unique style of progressive bluegrass music to The Theatre at Washington at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The band incorporates a wide variety of musical influences. In addition to bluegrass the group draws on folk, country, rock and jazz.

The five musicians who have recently joined forces to form Acoustic Outlet are all well known in their own right. Dede Wyland and Chris Stifel play guitar, Mike Munford, banjo, Akira Otsuka, Mandolin, and Fred Smith, bass, and all are also vocalists. A recent article in Monthly Music says the “Acoustic Outlet show off some of the Baltimore and Washington area’s most accomplished performers.... the band’s diversity and uncommon dynamics appear effortless.”
