Esther Jenkins
Esther Mae Jenkins, 92, of Luray died Sunday, Feb. 4 at Page Memorial Hospital. ......1.
She was born May 3, 1903, at Luray and was a daughter of the late George and Eliza Campbell Aleshire.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker.
On Nov. 17, 1920, she married Howard Clarence Jenkins, who died Feb. 23, 1968.
She is survived by two daughters, Edith E. Lillard and Virginia Richards, both of Luray; eight sons, Harold C. Jenkins, George K. Jenkins, Robert W. “Tinker,” Jenkins, Howard J. Jenkins, Melvin T. Jenkins, Glenn L. Jenkins, all of Luray, Joseph L. * Jenkins of Stanley and Elwood D. Jenkins of Sperryville; 52 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 7 at the Luray Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Albert A. Kling. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.
Arrangements were handled by the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray.
