Last week I received a call from a reader that requested we run some simple recipes that children could learn to make. She also suggested recipes suitable for sphool parties, birthdays, etc. and then ask if I had any ideas for a Valentine school party because she didn't have a heart shape pan. ' I gave her a suggestion and told l}er it would also appear in this peek’s paper.
I must admit the heart shape cake was a breeze, however, recipes for s/nall children are a bit different. Heart shape cakes are easy. ' You will need a round and a square cake pan. Mix the cake batter as directed or from your favorite basic recipe, pour half the mixture into the round pan and the other half in the square pan. Bake as usual.
