After picking up victories over George Mason at home last Thursday, the Panther girls volleyball teams finished their seasons Monday night at home with losses to Brentsville but not before providing their fans with a lot bf exciting play. 3' Against Brentsville the varsity team played three long games before Succumbing 15-10, 12-15, 17-15.
In the first game Brentsville got off to an early 7-1 and then 10-2 lead, but few of those points came easily. It appeared that every other point followed a long volley, and the Panther squad rotated through its players twice on serve by the time the Tigers had that 10-2 lead.
Then the Rappahannock girls proceeded to stage a comeback getting three more points while giving up one more. However, Brentsville was not to be denied. They led 14-5 and needed 'only one more point to take the first game.
With Fran Overdorf serving for Rappahannock the Panthers closed to ,14-10 before a side out gave Brentsville^ the serve again and a 15-10 win.
In the second game the Panthers were able to get a 10-1 lead before Brentsville began to rally and tied the ; score at 10-10. With Angie Atkins [serving the RCHS girls led 13-10. ■Brentsville picked up two more points .before Courtney Mauro served for [Rappahannock's final two points.
