Still Required To Work
Welfare recipients enrolled in school or training programs still have to meet the 8-hour weekly minimum work requirement. The House of Delegates reversed its preliminary approval of the legislation and killed the bill that would have exempted them from this requirement.
The bill, sponsored by Delegate Vincent F. Callahan Jr., RFairfax, previously was voted on twice with each vote resulting in 50-50 split.
